District 09 Solano South Central Office
Statement of Purpose
Solano South, A Central Office was formed by the A.A. Groups within Southern Solano County for the express purpose of establishing a means through which the Groups, their members and the general public could be more effectively served than could be done by the Groups individually.
The services Central Office provides include, but are not limited to:
Assigning “Twelve Step” calls on a geographical basis to members who have volunteered for that service.
Maintaining a supply of approved books and literature.
Publishing a Directory of local A.A. meetings.
Serving as a hub for communications between local, regional, national and international groups.
Maintaining postings of announcements for activities and events in A.A.
Dispensing local information through newsletters and maintaining a website with a meeting directory & incidental changes in schedules between directory printings, an on-line copy of the Big Book, and provide links to other A.A. sites.
Maintaining a listing in telephone directories.
Handling or forwarding requests for information about A.A. and recovery from alcoholism.
Developing and sponsoring social affairs to help maintain a sense of unity.
Furnish speakers for A.A. groups and non-A.A. organizations.
These activities are supported by the voluntary contributions of the Groups within the Intergroup area. An accounting of funds received and expenditures made is rendered at each monthly intergroup meeting and held for review by members in the intergroup office.
Every registered A.A. Group in Southern Solano County is automatically a member of this body entitled to representation and a vote at each intergroup meeting.
Any A.A. member is welcome as a guest at all intergroup meetings.
Originally adopted December, 1980. Updated October, 2003. Adopted with revisions, November, 2003
